Privacy Policy

LAST UPDATED — SEPTEMBER 2026

This policy explains what YOU SHOULD, SHA. collects, why, and who else sees it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

The short version: we collect your name, contact details and which car you are interested in, and we pass those to the broker or dealer holding that car so they can contact you. We never pass on your budget. We do not sell your data to anyone.

Who we are

YOU SHOULD, SHA. is operated by a sole trader based in Japan. Contact: contact@youshouldsha.com

What we collect

When you join the waitlist or make an enquiry

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The model or type of car you are looking for
  • Your budget range, if you choose to give it
  • Anything else you write in a message to us

Our waitlist form is hosted by LaunchList, which stores this information on our behalf.

When you visit the site

  • Pages viewed, time on page, and how you arrived, through Google Analytics
  • Approximate location at city level, derived from your IP address by those tools
  • Browser and device type

We do not use this to identify you personally, and we do not try to.

Who we share it with

Brokers and dealers

When you enquire about a car, we forward your name, email address and the car you asked about to the broker or dealer who holds it. That is the point of the enquiry — they contact you directly and the conversation continues between the two of you.

Once your details reach them, that business handles your information under its own privacy policy, not ours.

What we do not forward

We do not pass on your budget range. Telling a seller what you are able to spend puts you at a disadvantage before the conversation starts. We use that field only to understand, in aggregate, what buyers are looking for. It stays with us.

Service providers

We use third parties to run the site: web hosting, the waitlist form, email delivery and analytics. They process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We do not sell your data

Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. We do not build profiles for resale and we do not share your details with businesses you did not enquire about.

Affiliate links and third-party sites

Some links on this site are affiliate links, and some pages list insurance or finance providers. When you follow a link to another company’s website, that company collects your information under its own policy. We have no control over what they do with it. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Cookies

We use cookies for analytics and, where affiliate programmes require it, to record that a visit came from this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop the site working.

How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept while they are still useful for following up a sale, and then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings. If you ask us to delete your information, we will.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete your information entirely
  • Stop contacting you

Email contact@youshouldsha.com and we will action it. There is no form to fill in and no charge.

We cannot delete information already passed to a broker or dealer at your request — you will need to contact them directly for that.

Where your data is held

This site is hosted in Japan. Our service providers store data in Japan, Australia, the United States and the European Union depending on the provider. Brokers and dealers we forward enquiries to are based in Australia.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, administrative access is protected by two-factor authentication, and access to enquiry records is limited to the operator. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that affects your information.

Children

This site is intended for adults buying motor vehicles. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, email us first and we will try to resolve it. Australian residents may also raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how we use information you have already given us, contact you.
